After working with the first lady of racing in Australia, Gai Waterhouse, Laura was selected as a graduate in the Godolphin Flying Start program. Godolphin, owned and run by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Ruler of Dubai, selects a limited number of graduates each year from around the world to take them around the world to train them in relation to all aspects of the horse racing industry. Ms Pouri-Robertson joins Gai Waterhouse’s now co-trainer Adrian Bott as a leading successful graduate of the program.

Following the program, Laura completed internships with Nicoma Bloodstock in Lexington, Kentucky, Vinery Stud in Australia, leading South African trainer Mike de Kock in Dubai, and a stint at Highclere Racing and Carisbrooke Stud.

Her most recent job was as the racing manager for the highly successful Triple Crown Syndications company which has been the leading horse syndication company in Australia for the past few years, highlighted by multiple Everest successes.

Through her experiences, Laura Pouri-Robertson adds considerable expertise and presence in the horse racing industry.

“We are very excited to have Laura join our team. To have someone with such an outstanding racing pedigree is a great resource for our clients. We are fortunate enough to have a number of trainers, jockeys, owners and other industry participants that are clients of our firm, and now they will have someone that has some of the best experience in the industry that one could have to assist them,” said Partner John Vizzone.

In addition to specific services for the horse racing industry, Laura Pouri-Robertson will add expertise to the firms commercial practice, offering advice in all elements of commercial matters for all industries and will be able to advise on commercial transactions, agreements, commercial leases, deeds, litigation and any strategic advice.

“VRT Lawyers have made some strategic recruitments to add value to our services and strengthen our cases. In recruiting Laura, we believe that we have done so again. I’m looking forward to Laura also offering strategic support to the Family Law Group where matters involve commercial elements,” added Daniella Ruggero.
