Alan joined VRT in early 2025, having previously worked in a small, boutique family law firm. Alan has a general family law practice (including both parenting and property), wills and estate planning, and family provision disputes in the Supreme Court, however he specialises in family law matters. Additionally, Alan is an AMDRAS approved nationally accredited mediator, formally becoming accredited in June 2020.
Alan’s client approach is differentiated by his broad life experience, and he utilises his strengths in managing disputes and addressing conflict to guide his clients’ through to resolution. He tackles each of his matters with authenticity and empathy, recognising each client comes with unique circumstances and has experienced their own, specific challenges.
Alan transitioned into his legal career, after having an extensive career as a senior commercial leader in Australia, the United States and Canada, working for global companies both here and internationally. His experience and pragmatic approach provide a unique perspective for the cases he works on and the client’s he works with. Drawing on his commercial experience, Alan utilises a solutions-focused and strategic approach to meet his clients’ challenges, ensuring effective and creative outcomes.
Alan has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Media from Macquarie University, and completed an Australian Institute of Company Directors course in 2016.
In his spare time, Alan enjoys spending time with his young family, madly supporting his sport teams and closely following American politics.
